How Moriyama Redesigned and Rebuilt Langford Vets' Website
Langford Vets runs five distinct veterinary services, and its old website made them hard to tell apart. Moriyama redesigned and rebuilt it on Umbraco around the journeys its users actually take.

Langford Vets cares for small animals, farm animals and horses. Alongside its primary care practices, it provides diagnostic laboratory services and runs the Small Animal Referral Hospital, home to the largest team of Diploma-level veterinary specialists in the South West.
The Challenge
Langford Vets has five distinct service areas: a small animal practice, the referral hospital, diagnostic laboratories, a farm animal practice and Stables Equine Practice. The old website struggled to explain them. Users found it hard to move between services, work out where to go for key tasks, and find contact details, referrals, pricing, forms, payments and advice.
Internally, the web team needed a CMS that made it easier to keep content accurate across several business units. Umbraco 7 was reaching end of life, which gave the chance to modernise both the design and the platform.
The Approach
Discovery and research. Moriyama ran stakeholder workshops and surveys, surveyed clients and vets, and studied call centre data, Google Analytics and heatmaps. The research drew on more than 1,800 weekly support calls, 304 user voices and 16 vet professionals across the five service areas. It showed demand for better navigation, clearer service information, stronger mobile usability, easier referrals, better payment journeys and forms, and more self-service content.
Clearer journeys. Langford Vets serves pet owners, referring vets, breeders, farmers, horse owners, students, job seekers and event visitors. Moriyama built a clearer information architecture, better landing pages and focused journeys so each group could find the right service, contact, referral route or payment page when it needed it.
A flexible CMS. The redesign is mobile-first, with clearer layouts, stronger photography and flexible content modules. The rebuilt Umbraco CMS gives editors control over page layouts, FAQs, events, forms, team profiles, tagged content and service information, with improvements to accessibility, performance, search and content governance.
The Outcome
The new website gives a clearer, more accurate picture of Langford Vets and the breadth of its services. Users have a straighter route to emergency support, referrals, diagnostics, appointments, payments, forms, pricing and advice. They can now pay bills online and order specific Cat Genetics tests, which cuts reliance on phone calls, printed forms and manual admin. Better structure and self-service content support the aim of fewer unnecessary calls and emails, and the internal team can keep content current across every service area.
