About
Danette Copestake has spent more than 25 years leading technology change across financial services, defence, national security and central government. She began her career in the Royal Navy, and Computer Weekly named her one of its Top IT Leaders in 2025.
She founded Hypatia Smart Technologies, where she works as a fractional CIO and enterprise architect. She helps boards and executive teams align governance, risk and strategy around technology, so they could move quickly on AI without losing control of their data. Her work has included a global generative AI rollout across eight countries for Citi and the Ministry of Defence's Forces Help to Buy scheme.
