How HeadChannel Built the Astrix Talent Platform for Talistar
Talistar's Astrix platform runs temporary staffing from first application to payroll, for agencies, venues and event companies. HeadChannel built it, and FIFA chose it to staff stadiums at the 2014 World Cup.

Talistar provides talent management software for temporary employment agencies, hospitality venues and event management companies. Its Astrix platform covers the whole staffing lifecycle, from the first application to payroll.
The Challenge
Talistar wanted to upgrade its talent management system at a time when demand for staffing software was rising fast.
The Approach
HeadChannel built Astrix as three portals.
Office portal. Project management for events and shifts, a talent pool with candidate matching, venue management, automated invoicing and payments, payroll, admin controls and reporting, and a secure contact database.
Client portal. Clients add and manage their own projects and shifts, and check that every open position is filled.
Employee portal. Candidates complete an application with their education and work experience. Once onboarded and trained, they set their availability and see the jobs scheduled for them.
Candidates could apply from anywhere at any time, which grows the talent pool. Invoices and payroll reports sit in one place, clients and staff manage their own profiles instead of phoning and emailing the office, and all data is encrypted with limited access.
The platform runs on .NET and Angular in Microsoft Azure, with Xamarin for mobile. The team had 16 developers, with UX designers, an architect, QA engineers, business analysts and a project manager, working in Scrum for development and Kanban for maintenance.
The Outcome
FIFA selected Astrix to coordinate stadium staffing at the 2014 World Cup. The platform now connects temporary workers with jobs in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, and Talistar plans to expand into more markets.
