Here’s the news, as appeared on The Scotsman.

Cohaesus, a software and technology outfit focused on the advertising and communication sector, has opened an office in Edinburgh.

The London-based firm, which counts advertising heavyweights Havas and M&C Saatchi among its clients, currently has a four-strong team in the city and is looking to expand its headcount.

The Edinburgh office is headed by Cohaesus senior partner Quentin Ellis, who said: “It’s a very exciting time for us to be expanding outside of London. There’s a huge resurgence going on in Edinburgh, with plenty of companies experiencing significant growth and new opportunities.

“But as with our existing clients, there’s a real issue in Scotland when it comes to bridging the gap between creative teams and software engineering – mainly due to a lack of in-house skills and resource. We’re looking to alleviate that pressure by recruiting local talent and drawing on our existing technical expertise.”

Some 80,000 people work in Scotland’s digital technologies industry, which contributes about £4 billion to the economy, but industry leaders have raised concerns about a lack of suitably-trained employees.

Ellis, who has been working in the city for the past two years, said: “Our arrival in Edinburgh will give Scottish businesses an opportunity to tap into a new stream of experienced, brilliant creative technologists.”
